A Master’s of Business Administration, also known as an MBA, is a valuable graduate degree that could help propel a person’s career to the next level. 1. Mary Elizabeth Lockwood Beneventi MBA Scholarship

The Mary Elizabeth Lockwood Beneventi MBA Scholarship grants students attending full-time graduate school a one-time $2,000 scholarship. Students are required to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25 and be enrolled in an MBA program at an accredited university. Applicants may reapply for the scholarship every year, but scholarship awards are not automatically renewed.

2. Cathy L. Brock Memorial Scholarship

The Cathy L. Brock Memorial Scholarship awards $1,000 to a single recipient. The scholarship is intended to recognize graduate students who have displayed themselves to be leaders representing a culturally diverse background. To be eligible applicants must be a naturalized US Citizen, maintain a 3.0 GPA while enrolled in an MBA or a comparable program, demonstrate financial need, and show a commitment to healthcare finance.

The award was named in honor of Cathy L. Brock who served as Director of Operations at the American Hospital Association’s Health Research and Educational Trust. Ms. Brock worked to increase the number of minorities involved in the field of health care management.

3. CVS Pharmacy Inc. Business Scholarships

CVS Caremark is determined to increasing the number of students involved in business. They have partnered with UNCF and created scholarships for students studying business or related fields. The CVS Pharmacy Inc. Business Scholarships awards students with a $5,000 scholarship for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Eligible students must maintain a 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need, enroll in an undergraduate or graduate business or related program, and must attend an accredited four-year program. Students are also required to be US citizens or permanent legal residents, submit a resume, transcript, and essay.

4. Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship

The Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship is being offered by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The GFOA operated in the United States and Canada and works to serve government financial professionals from those regions. One scholarship of $17,000 is available for the upcoming academic year.

Applicants must have superior academic or professional records showing a high level of achievements as well as promise to complete their studies. Candidates should also indicate plans to pursue a career in government finance at the state or local levels. Scholarship winners will be invited to the GFOA annual conference to be held in Denver, Colorado.

5. Dr. James Watson Graduate Scholarship

A special one-time scholarship is being offered to celebrate the Toro Company’s Centennial. The scholarship was created in honor of Dr. James Watson, a long-time agronomist who recently passed away in October of 2013.

Three students were awarded $2,000 scholarships through the SAFE Foundation. These students each have at least one remaining semester until graduation and are working towards a degree in sports turf management.

6. Eric Jenett Memorial Scholarship

A one-time scholarship in the amount of $2,000 is to be awarded to applicants pursuing a career in project management. The Foundation has created this program as a way to aid qualified applicants in their higher learning programs specializing in project management. The scholarship is being sponsored by PMI, PMI Components, and participating universities.

7. John L. Carey Scholarship Program

The John. L. Carey Scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to liberal arts and non-business degree holders who are pursuing graduate degrees in both accounting and CPA licensure. The scholarship is being sponsored by the AICPA Foundation and is intended for students with little or no previous accounting education who are considering a career in professional accounting.

A $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to each recipient for one year. Up to five students will be awarded the scholarship based on academic achievement, leadership, and future career plans. Mr. Carey served for over 40 years at AICPA and made it a priority to encourage students to become CPAs.

8. LAGRANT Foundation Graduate Scholarships

The LAGRANT Foundation scholarship will award students with $3,750. Students will also receive a trip to Detroit to participate in career building activities, a welcome dinner, two professional development workshops, and a scholarship reception.

To be eligible applicants must be a US citizen or permanent resident and fall into one of the following ethnic groups: African American, Asian American, Hispanic, or Native American. Applicants must be full-time students at an accredited university and maintain a 3.2 GPA. Students must also major in a field with emphasis on advertising, marketing, or public relations.

9. Richard Metzler Scholarship

The Richard Metzler Scholarship will award $5,000 to a single student or may be divided into up to three students. The award is intended for undergraduate or graduate students who show a commitment towards the management of consulting professionals. Students should show strong leadership skills and demonstrate a responsible regard to citizenship through either community service or related activities.

10. Sigma Chi Denton Scholarship Award

The Denton Scholarship provides a minimum of $1,000 to a student pursuing a graduate degree in International Affairs with a focus on either World Trade, Economics, Business, or Political Science. The scholarship was created by Brother Denton who worked at a Chicago-based international trade firm. He hopes scholarship recipients will have an impact on world trade.
